“Slow down, what’s the rush?” my husband would say to me as we hiked a trail, walked across a parking lot, or to any destination that we were headed.
“Keep up, Lieutenant,” he’d jest as we attempted to get somewhere in a timely manner.
“Slow down,” he would say, breathless, as I increased the distance between us on my scooter, having no idea I had left him behind.
He is silent now as he waits patiently while I slowly navigate the multi-directional abilities of my power wheelchair.
